13 Hurtz

Dunc's Story- "I've always have been a singer and have always taken advantage of all the opportunities to perform I could get my hands on! Jamming with friends on the weekend has always been life and life had always been music (nothings changed). I wanted to do something more than just jam though... so I created 13HURTZ! And we are in it for everything!!!:P"

Patrick’s story( gather round children)- Patrick picked up the geetar one fine dark and dreary day out of the pure envy of how he had seen the masters at work on his rusty old TV set. As lightening bolts crackled and morning doves chirped joyfully he learned to flail his hands up and down the fret board rhythmically as he watched intensively. Before he knew it he was recreating the magical tunes of his childhood and soon to seek out Duncan. They combined powers to create what they call pure musical Nirvana(not the band ...Sorry). Either that or he was a horny teenager looking for an easy way to pick up chicks like anyone who has touched the fine strings of a geetar!

Paul's Story- During the summer of 2008, we were in desperate need of a drummer!!! So I (Duncan) called up Matt and asked if he new any drummers that could kick some ass on a kit. Matt replied "call Paul!" I did. Next thing I know we are playing a concert with Paul. Also at our first concert with Paul you should all know that he almost got in a fight with three drunk guys outside of the bar before our set haha!!! Great guy! :)

Matt's Story- Matt has always been a metal head! Growing up on the music of Metallica, Judas Priest, Disturbed and Godsmack young Matthew was pretty much destined to play music. His weapon of choice ended up being an Ibenez bass guitar (his baby)! Playing small gigs in high school clearly wasn't enough for Matt so he decided to join 13Hurtz to be able to play the music that he was born to play!

History of the band name- Finding a band name that suits you is always an up hill battle!!! In 13HURTZ we are always looking for a new sound so... we did some research about frequencies and found that 13Hz is just below the human audibility level. So we decided that we would make a sound that no one has ever heard. The reason we spell the name with a "U" instead of a "E" is because it is damn painful trying to decide on a band name when everyone has a name in mind for the group....(needless to say, there where many fights that day...and I ended up getting hit in the head with a Drum stick witch coincidently HURT!!!)
