22nd Century is a satirical, hard rock trio comprised of three toughened veterans from the West Coast music scene. Lead Vocalist/guitarist Tim Plommer (Anthill) comes across as the Emo Maestro General while belting out powerful vocal melodies over crunching guitar riffs. Legendary drummer Zippy Pinhead (DOA, Art Bergman, The Mutants, The Dils) and Bassist/vocalist Duane Chaos (Centerfold, Ace Koden, Stress Factor 9) are one competent and tight rhythm section. Strongly influenced by the Ramones, SoundGarden and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, 22nd Century has a unique style as a three piece band. Often compared to the Foo Fighters and Green Day, the band delivers intense dynamics and satirical lyrics in songs such as "I read it on the radio" and "Howie the Skid" both in the studio and live on stage.
Also being social activists, the band helped raise over $25,000 to build a school in Tanzania in early 2010 and often donates their services for charitable causes such as raising funds to fight breast cancer and homelessness.
Their debut CD was produced by legendary music producer John Webster (Aerosmith, Cher, The Cult) and has garnered attention, including honorable mention in Billboard's 2009 song writing contest. The first single, Apartment 509, hit #1 on the UK indie charts in December 2009 and the second single, Life in Space, moved into the top five six months later. The trio has sold out venues and played from New York to L.A. They also enjoy a loyal fan base spread around the world.
What the Press is saying about it:
"22nd Century’s hard punching and sometimes comical style is a mixture of Ramones style power punk with a healthy dose of 1990’s grunge. "

"22nd Century...makes up one complete juggernaut firing off on all cylinders... a high energy fun CD to listen to and it never gets old because it sounds fresh, loud!"
MuzikReviews.com
"Tim Plommer (guitar/vocals), Duane Chaos (bass/vocals) and Zippy Pinhead (drums/persussion) deliver a full-fledged musical smackdown with their self-titled release. Gut busting guitar, thundering bass and powerful percussion set the stage for Plommer's angst laden vocals that are one part pissed off punk and one part grunge master general."
