The Hostel Crowd

We started as a trio with Nick Perovic (Vocals/Lead guitar), Danny Vatalaro (Drums), And Kyle Vanwyk (Rhythm Guitar) In Pickering, on. And played our first show as "Black Ring" in nick's basement on halloween 2004, after that we kicked out kyle and became a guitar and drum duo and changed our name to "Blak Stallyons", we played another show in nick's backyard in June 2005. In September 2005 we added Trevor Wilkes (Vocals/Bass) to the band and once again became a trio and once again changed our name to "Refugee 911". We Went 5 months with that line-up without playing any shows. in early February 2006 we added Jordan Utton to the line band were finally became a complete group! unfortunately, it only lasted 3 weeks before kicking trevor out (Due to too many missed band practises) so once again we were a incomplete band. we went about a month without a bass player, untill late march 2006 we found Zack McGrath (Vocals/Bass) To the band and changed our name to "Frantic City". we Played our first big show at Nick & Jordan's School (Highbush). Then in june we played another end-of-school party in june 2006. then we played a 2nd halloween show on october 30 with "No Currency" & "Point Blank". After that we decided to change our name because we didn't want to get into legal issues with another band called Frantic City, so we changed our name to "Ace Of Spades". And Played our first Supernova show at the "El Mocambo" on December 2nd, 2006. After that we took a bit of a break from shows and it wasn't untill April 20 (420) 2007, when we played at "The Dungeon". We did very well and placed 4th in the "Band on the Run" competition, and we were also aproached by schomberg band "Before the Dawn" to open for them at there CD release party, but since we were in the top 4 for oshawa, we had to to do a semi-final show on june 1st, we didn't make it to the finals but we were happy anyway because we at least made it to the semi's. Then on june 16th we opened for "Before the Dawn" under our new AND current name "Crashing Lights". The Show didn't turn out as planned but we still felt good. after a summer break we came back in september and started practising again. we practised at a steady base untill november, we kicked out Jordan out for unclosed reasons, so we added to our family "Sanjay Pujji" and that is our current story.
