Turning very quickly from nothing to something, A Divine Collision is on the rise to success.
Starting from virtually nothing in late 2007, A Divine Collision originally consisted of its present vocalist/lead guitarist, Marc Melo, present drummer Gavin Rizzo and a bassist. ADC had already written several of their songs but were continually searching (in vain) for a second guitarist to back up Marc on lead. After a huge fallout, ADC split up and went their own separate ways.
Marc kept the band name and continued writing lyrics and music, which he recorded and produced on his own. In mid-2008 Marc received an offer to be the vocalist of The Rescue, which he declined due to personal issues with members of the band and a preference to keep his own unique style. After Marc’s declination of The Rescue’s request, Marc and Yannic Filion (The Rescue’s bassist) kept in touch. Soon afterwards, Marc and Yannic had developed a concrete relationship and both wanted to see if they could make ADC work if they gave it another shot.
Weeks after becoming interested in restarting the project, Marc re-established his previous relationship with Gavin through increasingly frequent communication. Gavin agreed that it would be a good idea to give ADC another try.
Marc, Gavin, and Yannic spoke frequently throughout the next few days and it was finally suggested that they should get together and jam for an afternoon. Later on that week, the three devoted musicians met at Gavin’s house and spent several hours playing old songs, writing new ones, hanging out, and getting to know each other more.
A Divine Collision then found themselves in the same position Gavin and Marc had been in almost six months earlier: They had a vocalist/lead guitarist, a drummer, and a bassist, but no second guitarist. They went through their options and found that they had very few, and even those few didn’t seem suitable for the band.
Yannic then by some divine miracle remembered that his friend Sabino Furlone was a guitarist.
Sabs quickly agreed to be part of the band.
Now that ADC is fully formed, the members have received several offers for shows and promotions and are heading into studio for a demo album and are planning to have their full-length debut album finished within the next year.
