Angie Coombes is a Pop, Rnb, Rock band from Calgary, AB and looking for New Fans, More Gigs & A Recording Deal
Angie was inspired to write, arrange and produce "Feel Me" after having the opportunity to hear the prestigious Canadian singer-songwriter, Dan Hill, speak at a recent songwriting workshop.
Angie's passion and interest in music began very early in life as she was introduced to various types of music at a very young age. At 4 years old, she attended a program called "Music for Young Children" and was introduced to the basics of piano and performance. It was while attending this program that she composed her first piano song at the tender age of 6, and continued to compose a total of 17 piano pieces before the age of 10.
She began to study classical piano privately at 7 years old and excelled, attaining her Grade 10 certificate and winning numerous competitions and awards.
The transformation of musical skills is evident in Angie's ability to learn to play other instruments such as guitar, bagpipes, oboe and fiddle.
Angie's experience as a singer-songwriter began when she was 15 years old. Many of her early song lyrics were written with guitar as accompaniment, which she performed with her band '20/80' at the Halifax Pavilion and other local establishments in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Now residing in Calgary, Alberta, Angie has written lyrics and performed vocals for electronic dance music and was featured in the 2010 international release "Piece by Piece" by the esteemed Calgary-based Artist/DJ/Producer Micah Lukasewich.
Angie has since returned to composing songs on the piano. Gleaning inspiration from her personal experiences, she enjoys writing songs that explore a range of topics, human emotion, psychology and metaphysical concepts. Her lyrics often have deep meaning and are open to personal interpretation.
Angie will be preparing an EP album of original material early in 2012 - just in time for Canadian Music Week. Stay tuned for updates from this amazing, talented artist!
