Anna Wheeler Band

Based in Toronto by way of the beautiful shores of Newfoundland, Anna Wheeler (vocals/violin/guitar)is the result, back lash and left overs of playing with a variety of groups and people. Independently releasing a 12 song Ep “I Scoop You Up” in 2008, the CD became recognized within Newfoundland as an indication of the depth and scope of Anna’s music. Full of vulnerability, Anna is a young upcoming artist eager to grow and develop her craft. Deliciously “catchy-pop,” surrounded in folk roots, Anna describes her sound as “music written from the gut... nothing spun from the brain is helpful.” (Interview with CBC Radio1, January 2009) In Newfoundland, Anna has appeared in shows with East Coast Artists such as Hey Rosetta, Jenn Grant and Mark Bragg.
