Antares

October of 2006 saw the creation of Antares, started by Conner Saunders and Dickson Benjamin after months of conversation, the pair added guitar player and vocalist Brandon Paris. The trio then began playing covers which included "Follow" by Breaking Benjamin and "Bat Country" by Avenged Sevenfold. For a few months the band began writing some original material to get ready for the school battle of the bands auditions. It was during this time that their staple song, “From Merriment to Mourning” was written, at the time the song truly defined Antares’ sound. The threesome worked constantly writing new material but quickly decided that another guitar player was needed. After the battle of the bands auditions; Antares added Brendan Latimer to their roster as a rhythm guitarist. The addition of Brendan gave Antares the stability they needed to write new material easily and quickly. Months passed and new songs were coming together effortlessly, by the time that the band celebrated their one full year together in October of 2007, the foursome had written 13 songs. March of 2008 saw the addition of 3rd guitar player Tyler "Phil" Andrew, a more intricate player who added that little extra to the band. On April the 25th, 2008; guitarist Brendan Latimer played his last show with Antares at the Dungeon. This change in line-up left the band as a foursome again.

Antares has had the opportunity to befriend and play with many amazing and talented bands. Some of which include:
-Threat Signal
-Alpha Galates
-R.O.A
-Accolade of Apocalypse
-Pushing Up Daisies
-Dream Distorted
-Honest Disillusion
-Idol of Exile
-Fragment of Destruction
-Brane

This Sucks:
Catfish.
This Rocks:
Rocks, possibly.
What is the first song you learnt to play?
We kinda played Bat Country together the first few practices.
One musician you wish you could meet?
Too many to list.
As a band or artist, what has been your biggest challenge so far?
None really.
Who are your influences?
Avenged Sevenfold, Tool, Dream Theater, Breaking Benjamin...just to name a few
How do you prepare for a gig?
We practice the day before, and hang out before the show. Paris flips out but the rest of us are pretty chilled.
