Why in music business:
For starters... I have a passion for music. More importantly, I plan to start a band myself one day and want to build connections and better understand how the music industry works.
Advice to aspiring musicians:
Plan and determine your purpose before you start. Too many good bands break up when one or more members just don't have that passion, that direction, or that commitment. For a truly aspiring musician, waiting for the right moment to enter the industry could make the difference.
Even better advice, I have heard... if you want to succeed in the music industry, you have to be stupid and take stupid risks.
First concert:
The first real concert I went to was Underoath. Thrice was headlining their album, Vhiessu, and I went to see Underoath. I fell in love with both bands.
First CD:
The Curious Fools... I bet few people know who they are, but I picked up a used CD for a couple dollars and ended up loving it.
This Rocks:
Waking up everyday to do what you love.
This Sucks:
Waking up every day and remembering that you are getting up to chase another dollar bill.
