Hey, I’m Chris Medhurst. I have always loved music but only started getting serious about actually performing recently. I used to go home after a tiring day and listen to music, but now I can go home and also play it myself. As a matter of fact, most times I can't wait to grab my guitar. When I play it’s just like everything else doesn’t matter anymore. All that matters is the music. I also have a very musical background. My Uncle is a professional pianist and Examiner for The Royal Conservatory of Music, my Dad, who is also an artist, sings and plays guitar, and both of my cousins were in a band at some point in time. Going further back, my Grandparents on my Dad's side both taught music and my Grandfather was a choirmaster up until the day he died. As you can see, I come from a very artistic background. Before I got into playing I used to do a lot of visual art but when I discovered guitar it went to a whole new level, and then later when I started singing while I was playing guitar it went even further. That is when I knew it was what I wanted to do. My very first show was at Sauble Beach last summer at the Two Chicks Café. It was a last minute thing and it may not have been for a lot of people but it was a great experience. One guy even tipped me ten dollars because I played a Beatles song called Dear Prudence. Doing what I love and making money? What more could I ask for! On January 16, 2009 I played my first public show with Supernova and I am going to continue to write and perform every chance I can.
