Are you ready for your powerful dose of Rock Medicine?! Cosmedic announces the release of their second EP “Love Hate Machine”, April 1, 2008. “Love Hate Machine” contains 5 original Cosmedic tracks written and produced by Chris Denhartog and Cosmedic.
Cosmedic is an independent Vancouver based 4-piece formed just over two years ago. The backgrounds of these seasoned musicians include a long list of recordings, radio & TV play, and 100’s of shows. Your ears will perk at the first glimpse into their unique sound.
Fronted by Chris Denhartog's “laconic understated” vocal stylings, Chris moved to Vancouver from San Bernardino, California. He wrote with Allan Levy, original member of Hollywood Records '40 Foot Echo'. After some time writing with members of Vancouver's own 'Tourist', Chris left to start his own project. He found Brett Drury; the accomplished drummer of Vancouver's successful 'Girl Nobody'. Guitarist James Jeffrey, of Toronto had just moved to Vancouver to work with Sony/Daylight artist 'Rider Jones', when his dissonant, exotic style immediately caught the attention of Chris. Bassist Robert Shaw left his Toronto home as well as the successful band 'Rye' with Moist's Jeff Pearce to complete the four-piece.
The albums first single, a seductive hit called “Without Eyes,” attacks you with its freaky guitar lines, memorable choruses, and Cosmedic's unique and original grooves. An excellent example of what to expect from this EP. From there, you get a taste of aggressive, yet pensive flavour of rock, summed up tastefully in their title track “Love Hate Machine". Their second EP draws a full circle around their dynamic, groove oriented stylings.
