Coterie of Stern

Coterie of Stern was founded in 2009 after Mark moved back North from living in Florida. He began writing songs with Colin, a former college-mate, and the two felt that they had some great music. Soon realizing they needed a rhythm section, they asked Dan and Brian to join, completing the band as it is today. Alternative/Indie Rock band, Coterie of Stern is comprised of three classically trained musicians and an engineer. The music of Coterie of Stern is influenced by such bands as The Tragically Hip, Weezer,SoundGarden, Tom Waits, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Alice in Chains, and the Stone Temple Pilots. The band has released their self-titled debut album in March 2011 and are in the post-production stage for their follow up EP. The varying influence of music between all four members brings together a unique twist of rock that includes everything from classical to punk, providing a soundscape which will satisfy the discerning listener. Coterie of Stern has been winning over fans with its high energy music, melodic guitar riffs and amazing vocals of Colin, backed up by harmonies from Mark and Brian. Dan’s vocals bring an emotional angst to the crowd that demands their attention, allowing them to feel the music engage them on another level.
