D-Activ8

D-Activ8 was officially formed in 2007 by Kev and Frank T., former members of the band "Infected", in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Together, they wrote the first EP "A Beautiful Revenge" released that same year (Sold in hundreds of copies) with Vee on bass and Lew on drums, two experienced musicians from the local scene. This E.P., mixed by Frank T., has a pure modern rock sound, with a touch of grunge. In 2008, D-Activ8 performed several shows in Ottawa, such as the "Nudefest", a festival to raise money for the Ottawa Food Bank, playing with bands such as Distant Society and Counterclock. That same year, Lew left the band to pursue personal interests. After his departure, the band held auditions and found PL, a talented young local musician. With a new member on board, D-Activ8 played many more shows in Ottawa; were featured on Carlton University's radio 93.1 CKCU Ottawa and performed at Bar "Le Syndrome" in Montreal just to name a few. Late 2008, Quickstar Production released a compilation album, "Rock 4 Life volume 16" which includes D-Activ8's original song "Jealousy". This compilation is available on itunes.com, bestbuy.ca, walmart.com, emusic.com and more online stores. D-Activ8 is a band that pushes the borders of hard-rock with their cutting edge music, from heavy sounding guitars to enchanting acoustic tones. Music that contains a variety of styles and influences from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Stone Temple Pilots, Motley Crue, Alice In Chains and many more modern rock artists. D-Activ8 creates as a quintet, a modern and innovating sound to this date.
