GOOD GRIEF! is a rock band that kicks your ass while satisfying your sweet-tooth at the same time. Hailing from Vancouver, the band features insightful lyrics, addictive melodies, and a straight-forward, edgy sound that invokes the best days of the 90's but with a modern twist.
All the members grew up on the west coast of British Columbia and were heavily influenced by the "indie", "grunge", and "alternative" rock movements of the early to mid 90's as well as skateboard, snowboard, and surf culture.
Conor Brandt (Vocals, Guitar) writes the earnest songs from a hidden pocket in his head that takes over his brain sometimes. Through jamming, the other members help shape the songs into their finished form. Chris Jaggers (Bass, Vocals) not only shreds the bass but he understands the strange world of lights, buttons, and knobs so he engineers the recordings. Darren Scott (Guitars) lends a trained ear to creating melodic guitar phrases that create atmosphere. Shane Wilson (Drums) is the human that makes most drum-machines sweat with his solid feel and sonic flair.
The past year has seen GOOD GRIEF! play numerous shows to hungry audiences (gaining them a faithful following), shoot a music video for the song "Market Traitor", and release their self-recorded, 6-song EP "Sincerity is the New Irony". The band aims to offer something genuine and sincere in these times of over-perfected fallacy and phoniness.
GOOD GRIEF! is currently waist-deep in recording the new songs that will be on their follow-up EP that is to be released in Spring of 2012. They will be playing near you soon so keep checking back for show details
