"Christian Hurst is a producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger and programmer who has embraced music from his first breath. A professional musician since 1990, he began working as an engineer in local studios in 1998, and as he began to contribute more musically with each project he evolved naturally into a producer. He has consistently maintained his faith in Canadian talent and strived to find, facilitate and fight for their art and their vision. Granitewish Studios is Christian's production business.

Christian has produced, engineered, arranged, programmed and performed on albums ranging through rock, jazz, blues, country, soul, r&b, folk, funk and hip hop. Working with hundreds of artists including Canadian artists on U.S. major labels like Ashley MacIsaac and Esthero, and independent artists such as Boulay, Belladonna and The Prince Brothers, as well as having the opportunity learn from local studio guru's such as Les Bateman and Pete Prelisnik, and international producer legends like Larry Klein and Helik Hadar, has given Christian a wealth of industry insight and experience.

Noted for his committment to putting the music first, Christian is known for his ability to communicate with and nurture the artists he works with and their vision, instead of simply pushing them in the direction he wants them to take. Christian's rare ability to identify and bring forth the heart and soul of a song through it's natural melodies and rhythms, in conjunction with the artists inherent strengths, has been celebrated on every project he's contributed to.
