Group Therapy

Group Therapy originally formed in 2003, with original members Josh Abt, Chris Saylors, Mark Germano and Ryan Carney. After building a small local buzz from playing any bar or house party that would have them and finally finding their footing by 2004, Ryan and Josh had decided to part ways with Mark and Chris, bringing aboard Brandon McNall and Steve Tomes. For the next year, the newly reformed band spent their time writing and crafting songs that would eventually tell their story of surviving homelessness, the loss of dear loved ones and drug addiction. In the summer of 2008, the band entered a contest to win a spot on the Rockstar Get A Life Tour opening for the likes of The Used, Straylight Run and The Street Drum Corp. While the contest ran for a total of two months, the band entered with just 2 weeks left to go. Group Therapy finished in 6th place out of 400 bands that entered, nationwide!!!! By this point the band had proven they could survive anything, especially each other but then they had come to yet another crossroad. Their longtime drummer, Josh Abt, decided to leave the band due to a career out of state. The void was filled by their newest member, Josh Love, former drummer numerous bands. With an even mixture of gut wrenching screams, strong melodies and poignant lyrics, this Detroit band has come together from their broken pasts to heal their futures through music. They are currently recording their long awaited first studio album called "Pieces for the Broken".
