Every once in a while, a singer/songwriter comes along that is a true treasure. J David of The J David Band is one of those creative Canadian geniuses that we truly must embrace.
“Be Right Now” is the debut single from J David which can only be defined as the blending of haunting sonic landscapes with powerfully driven melodies and outstanding vocals.
Based in Vancouver, multi-talented J David has been part of it’s scene for quite a few years and has played with numerous bands as a vocalist, pedal steel player, lead guitar, bass player, drummer and keyboardist. His dream was to be able to have his own band and to take his music to the masses. Some dreams can come true as J David sets out on his odyssey.
“Be Right Now” is without question a superb, yet pristine power pop song that also embraces the rock world of sound that truly reflects radio right now.
J David credits Butch Vig (Garbage), Daniel Lanois & Brian Eno as his biggest influences in his approach to songwriting and production.
The Smashing Pumpkins, Matthew Good and Deleo (STP) have proven to be some of the most influential artists for J David. Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno have been the biggest influences on J David’s approach to songwriting, feel and production.
J David will be touring around Canada this spring and summer promoting his debut album ‘The Twilight in Between” slated for release Tuesday April 3rd 2012.
