LIFE

LIFE is a hard-driving rock/metal 4-piece band, combining old school hard rock and metal with a modern approach . Elements of Led-Zeppelin to Megadeth all mixed up in a primordial soup of unmatched musicality, new ideas and showmanship , this band is breathing new life into the world of music and on the edge of conquering it altogether. LIFE, as we know it, was first created 4 years ago by John Buck and Jeff Elwood. Long time friends and bandmates from Winnipeg, they had gone their separate ways and re-connected in Kelowna years later. Over that time, John had prostituted himself out to various bands and projects, playing everything from jazz to country to metal, as well as being a concert rigger for arena shows throughout Canada and teching many smaller shows all over. During the same period, Jeff re-taught himself the drums after a serious motorcycle accident left him unable to play. His hard-driving style and talent even caught the ear of drummer Rick Allen (Def Leppard) and the two have since become good friends. John, packing a fistful of new songs, hooked up again with Jeff and his shared desire for musical expression and world domination and formed LIFE. The album 'Dig It" was recorded and the search for the missing link was on. That turned out to be Mike. Mike is a talented and busy musician, writing and recording five albums with his band 'Empyria', as well as playing on many other recordings, and still writes and records for metal icon 'THOR'. It was soon apparent that a new bass player was needed to move ahead, and a lengthy and exhaustive search turned up Kent. A multi-instrumentalist, he has played bass and drums for many local and touring bands and also a former 'THOR' alumni Finally complete, LIFE went on to play many successful shows and festivals, and has opened for many top recording acts, including Todd Kerns, Lee Aaron, Lou Gramm, Grand Funk, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many, many talented unsigned artists. LIFE has received radio airplay throughout the okanagan valley with songs 'For Your Life' and 'Lucky Ones', and has been filmed and broadcast by CHBC television, Shaw Cable, OKBC.tv and Lost Ministry Films, and has been featured in most local papers and entertainment features. The band, armed with 14 new songs, is currently in the studio and planning a summer release of their latest album.
