Love and Logic is an up and coming New York City foursome. They released their debut self-titled EP on June 1st for free download at their website loveandlogicrock.com following the "name your own price" model that Radiohead popularized last year. The response online has been overwhelming, even crashing their site for a brief time due to high traffic. Their high-energy live performance is attracting a lot of attention as well; selling out their NYC album release show at popular rock venue Arlene's Grocery, and playing to large crowds at Webster Hall, Mercury Lounge and The Highline Ballroom. The band also took home first place in Supernova's Bandwars NYC 2009 as well as being placed on the short list of "Best bands at Arlene's 2009".
In January 2010, Love and Logic released an acoustic cover of Adam Lambert's "What do you want from me" on YouTube and received over 70,000 views in less than a week. Even Adam Lambert himself took notice and posted on his twitter and facebook that he thought the video was "Beautiful".
Love and Logic combines elements of indie rock, pop, and classical music to create a truly unique and versatile sound. It's equal doses of heart and brain (hence the name...) that make their songs so accessible and emotional, but also intricate and challenging.
The story starts with four twentysomethings in New York finding each other through Facebook. Frontman, Paul Canetti, set out on a search to find a band after years on the NYC singer/songwriter circuit. He and longtime bassist, NYU grad Dan Haller, found an ally in Annie Kim, her PhD in classical music giving them a unique element they had never imagined possible. They searched far and wide before finding drummer Derron Walker, a powerhouse with rock and reggae influences. Drawing on their various musical and cultural backgrounds (three of the four are first generation Americans), Love and Logic have created a truly new brand of rock.
