Everything from David Bowie to Frank Sinatra, Tool, Cypress Hill, The Pixies, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Run DMC, Faith no More, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, John Coltrane, Paul Oakenfold, Mahavishnu Orchestra...the list goes on. Literary influences come from every direction as well from the standard rock'n'roll Tolkien to Zadie Smith, Terry Pratchett, Walt Whitman, Allan Ginsberg, Angie Dickinson, Jack Kerouac and John Milton. Another list that goes on for a while. The idea here is to not limit yourself in your influences. Observe everything and then have the presence of mind and strength of will to take away only those things you wish to.
