It all starts in the town of Owen Sound when a studly bass player, Adam Wagner, and a guitar virtuoso, Phil Jackson started jamming together in October of 2003. They started a band with several name attempts like PaperCuts, Four Ironed Frenzie, and Out Of Focus. Throughout jam sessions they had numerous members in their band up until they finally met up with frontman extordinaire, Bryndan Boonstra, a year later. They practised together for a long time without a drummer. After a few tryout drummers, they discovered the skin pounding, mind busting Luke Armstrong and completed the formation of "Ossified." The name was chosen by Adam Wagner and Bryndan Boonstra following a history class where they learned the word "Ossified" was slang for "drunk" in the 1930's. Nowadays, the word means "to harden to bone". They haven't played a great amount of shows, but they have played their hearts out at every single one. They have played such venues as Clarksburg, Southampton Town Hall, the Bayshore and the Harb. But one place where they will never forget is the St. Mary's talent show, where their first live show was performed. It was made possible by their drama teacher, Miss Addley. They have gone through a couple sound changes over the years. In the beginning, they were punk, similar to the Ramones, but that changed quickly when they discovered Bryndan was not a punk and couldn't pull off the punk attitude. They merged into a sound that was extremely close to Nirvana, and played this way for a while. But once again, a bad experience and a grand discovery forced them to completely change themselves. This grand discovery was that of the band Rage Against the Machine. Phil's song writing quickly became heavily influenced by Tom Morello and Zach de la Rocha. Finally, their sound was perfected. The instruments were perfected. Now, Bryndan and the rest of the band needed to find their inner showmen. This was a task that came extremely easily to Bryndan, and Phil eventually found his courage. Now they are fist pumping, stage jumping and crowd pleasing machines and they get better every show.
