Hey everyone! We?re ?Resisting Gravity? - a new band from Nova Scotia with what we hope is a great sound! Band members are: Jesse (age 17, guitar/vocals), Thomas (age 16, bass) Liam (age 10, guitar/vocals), and Gabriel (age 18, drums).
You want a bio? Okay... it goes something like this...
A few years ago, brothers Jesse and Liam began jamming together just for fun. They learned some songs and Jesse wrote some of his own and they began busking at the Halifax waterfront in the summer, Jesse on guitar and Liam on djembe, sometimes with friend, Paul Ranson. A couple of years passed and Jesse was getting pretty good on guitar... they had a few invites to join in on shows going on at local venues around Wolfville, NS... and then, in the fall of 2007, they got invited to play their first full gig in December at ?On the Verge? in Wolfville. A week before the show, they were practicing when they met Jordan and Micaela ...they began jamming together, and that was the beginning of Resisting Gravity, although the band was nameless until April 2008. We've been through a few changes since then bringing us to the current (as of June, 2009) line-up of members: Jesse, Liam, Thomas, and Gabe.
So far, so good - we've been told we have an "adult sound". We played in a Battle of the Bands in Tusket, NS on April 25, 2008 and won "best original song" for "Down with the Ship" - a song Jesse wrote about global warming. We also got two second prize placings for "judge's choice" and for "people's choice". (Judges were Dwight D'Eon, Julian Babin, & Jen MacIntosh).
