Supernova would like to thank each and every band who played at the Opera House on Saturday, June 3. It was definitely an awesome night of music, and each band played amazingly. The night was kicked off with a great five piece rock band called Blitz 88, who were followed by the hardcore screams of the band, One Step Below. Changing the sound of the show a bit was the psychedelic rock band, The Wasted Spades, and then Not A Clue, who had their crowd going wild. Nocturnal Submission was another great rock band with tons of energy, followed by the guys from Crime Of The Century who have outstanding stage presence. Blind Senses was an alternative rock band with a lot of talent and well written songs. No Commitment blew everyone away their fast songs, energy, and the stage dive by the singer into the audience was just crazy. The band Dawn Treader was great. They played some really good original songs, and next up was The Village Idiots, who had the crowd moshing and skank’n to the sound of the trumpet. Silver Gage was an excellent rock band who everyone really seemed to enjoy. The Red Box Social was a very talented band and had a crazy stage performance. They were followed by Feed The Failure, who had a bassist who I think amazed everyone. Orange Fuzz brought everyone back to the 70’s with a classic Led Zeppelin cover, and amazed us all with their original songs. Finishing the night was the band Serene Love Morphine who played some catchy rock tunes. And the winners are: 3rd prize – Silver Gage wins 4 hours of recording time at Machinehead Studios. 2nd prize – Orange Fuzz wins 8 hours of recording time at Machinehead Studios. 1st prize – No Commitment wins a set of Paiste Cymbals and a professional photo shoot.
