For Those of us Not in Orange and Blue Jerseys…

Despite a hockey game, dedicated fans showed up to watch seven bands compete in the forth installment of Supernova’s Band on the Run.
“Incarnadine” started off the night with a short yet, impressive set. The fourth place winner “Black Burden”, a three-piece with an incredible amount of potential followed up and didn’t disappoint fans.
“Unbalanced” took the stage and blew away the audience with their confidence and powerful stage presence. Taking home second place was the crowd-favorite “Last Chance Hollywood” who’s friends, family and new-found fans begged for an encore.
Third place winners and Supernova veterans The Vanilla Villins had a tough act to follow, but did so with ease despite technical difficulties.
Our winner of the night was “Living Illusion” a talented and experienced 4-piece who’s musicianship impressed the crowd as well as other competing bands.
Rounding off the competition portion of the evening was “Our Wasted Youth,” a metal band the potential make noise in the Edmonton music scene.
The night was capped off with a performance by Headliner “The Set” a band from Victoria who played the first of a four-date Western Canada tour. Playing releases from their newest, ‘The Philosophy of Time Travel’ the guys captivated audiences with their haunting-melodic rock and intense stage presence. A great place to go on a warm spring night that is, if you’re not suffering from hockey fever.
