All other ambiance about the night pales in comparison to the sound of ‘Thane’ and their mesmerizing keyboard effects. The Emo-rock quartet brought in an effect driven set that was a great start to another supernova.com Battle of the Bands™ competition.
‘Virus’ who crossed Emo and Punk elements in their set made sure to be in suit with matching green guitars and bass, a nice touch. They were followed by ‘The President’s Choice,’ a rock trio that made a great impression on judges.
‘Goodnight Noises’ brought out their best material and some excellent sync-guitar riffs. The band had a great set even after slight technical glitches with their tom. Following with Murphy’s law was ‘Starkiller,’ an awesome hard rock band that couldn’t get the keys to work, eventually toughed it out deciding to press on without the synth backing; making up with a killer set of tight heavy rock they did not disappoint their faithful the band nabbed 2nd place when it was all over.
‘Blind Euphoria’ brought some classic rock style to the battle as they continue to belt out throwback 80’s metal in their set; they certainly had a unique set and stage presence. With more alternative hard rock ‘With the Lights on’ and ‘Solidarity’ drew their sound from solid percussion and strong vocals up front.
‘Facing Friendly Fire’ crosses both alliteration and post hardcore with ease. The guys featured an impromptu bongo drum element to their stage show and with lead vocal talent up front beyond the capacity of many bands in this genre the guys made the top spot and now get to choose playing the city finals in the Playdium Summer Concert Series with either the Cancer Bats or Ill Scarlett..
