WE WILL, WE WILL, ROCK YOU!! Yes folks 14 bands rocked the house on Saturday night at the Ottawa Finals at The New Capital City Music Hall. Everyone worked extremely hard to get to the finals and proved to the fans they could rock out to a massive crowd of screaming fans. The night began with FLAPJACK COMMOTION. These guys are loud and dynamic. Second up was the “grunge” rockers EGOISTA. Reminds me of the 90's Nirvana days, love the sound! JAMIN AURA really wowed the crowed and the judges. Watch for these guys in the future. YOUR PORTRAIT HERE once again put on a stage show that gave you no choice but to glue your eyes to the performance! MERACUS played their sweet melodies to a tight set. Good job on 3rd place guys! All the way from Montreal, we had THE COMOTOSE BUBBLE! Another band who improved in a big way. The crowed was getting big at this point and were loving these guys. Following the Bubble, we had DISCOVERIES AND BELIEVERS; It's very obvious that these guys have developed a committed fan base. Next was EPOCHOLYPSE...WOW!! They took 1st place, and it was well deserved. The drummer once again had me shaking my head, wondering how someone so young could be so good! The writing skills, creativity, professionalism, crowd response; all was top notch. These guys have the complete package. ELBOW DROP SUNDAYS kept the crowd going as usual with their punk antics and anthems. FROM THIS BURNING SKY brought a bus in from Hawksbury and played a dynamic set filled with keyboard and heavy drums. DYSPHORIA a supernova fan favorite followed up and got a giant mosh pit started, much to the dismay of venue security! These guys have been around since the first preliminary rounds, and kept it real all the way through. CHANNEL ONE our headliner hit the stage next. These guys have traveled all over Canada with tunes that get stuck in your head; a great addition to the night. BROKEN ON SITE blew everyone away and took 2nd place. Last but not least, THE WILLIS PRIDE EXPERIENCE. A perfect end of the night with “Pink Floyd” style songs, great piano and vocals. Thanks again to everyone who came out to support the bands.
