It was a beautiful weekend in Chicago, and all was as could be expected, as the Cubs blew a few games to the Cardinals, and the rumours are in fact true... It was windy. The Lakeshore Theater was the setting for the show, and 8 Chicago bands rocked the Casbah. First up was Winner Takes All, and they opened the show with a spirited bout of alt rock. O'Doyle Rules was up next, and despite the absence of Billy Madison, they did in fact put on a great set of punk rock. Beneath The Flesh was our first metal band of the night, and they blasted the crowd with some serious power and aggression that had a few upfront with their devil's horns in the air. Kedsey rocked the crowd with some catchy tunes that had the audience tapping their feet. Khaos Theory marked the midway point of the show, and provided the evening with some serious rock, and proved that maybe their handle was not just a clever name, as chaos seemed to reside on the stage with them. They were the band that walked away with the studio time, thanks to our sponsor Paragon Studios. Surreal Demise kept the energy going, and "killed" the crowd with their own flavour of metal and volume. Superfri was up next and made their best efforts to get the crowd on their feet, and got a great response from some people who were looking for a reason to make some noise. Against All Odds closed the evening with an intimate audience of their choosing, although in the future we will have to fill up the room for them because their music demands an audience of bigger proportions, and they managed to use the great stage at the Lakeshore as a photo op. We're slowly but surely trying to get the scene going in Chicago, and I think we're well on our way with the bands from Sunday night.
