Notable is the key word for the El Mocambo show this weekend in Toronto.

1st Place: Mind of Days (Alternative/Progressive Metal)
2nd Place: Split Vision (Classic Rock)
Eleven bands performed at the Elmo Saturday evening and all can be noted as a talented bunch!
Mind of Days took home first prize with their stage presence, entertaining atmosphere and overall talent. The four guys from Mississauga, Ontario won 12 hours of recording time at Machinehead Studio in Toronto and Advance to Toronto’s Band on the Run Semi-Finals!
Second prize went to youthful band from Ajax, Ontario called Split Vision. With their classic rock feel and fashion, they were a shoo in with the Elmo crowd and won 200 pins with their band name or logo courtesy of Crucial Pins. This surely will help with their development and an Advance to Semi-Finals couldn’t hurt either!
Notable nods go to Dead End Girl and featured band of the night, Mayday.
The Toronto Semi-Finals will take place on Friday, June 1st, 2007, at Reverb and Holy Joe’s (651 Queen Street West) where the Top 10 bands will advance to the Ontario Band on the Run Finals and compete against bands from all over southern Ontario. Grand Prize winner of the entire program will receive a 4-city mini tour geared up with a merch package courtesy of Clickity Clank Music Bank (a division of Kleurvision Inc.).
