“I think it all started when I was three. That was when my pre-school had some little show for all the parents to video tape and remember their precious angels. I sang ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.’
It was quiet a show, with a microphone bigger then my arm, I remember I never wanted to get off the stage--I think I just loved all the attention and cameras pointed my way. That was my first time singing all by myself.”
Summer Brooke continued to peruse music all through her high-school years, taking part in up to five honor choirs a year. Tired of the classical chamber music that so many of the choirs offered, she took an interest in jazz music. Summer starting attending the globally recognized Monterey Jazz Festival Camp in Monterey, California. There, she became a part of a “jazz family,” learning how fun and interesting music could really be. During summer break, just after the young artist turned 16, she tried out for the Monterey Jazz Festival Vocal Ensemble. Summer made the cut. With this group, she performed through our central California and completed a 2010 summer tour in Japan after being awarded Up and Coming Vocalist of the Year at the New Generation Jazz festival in Monterey, Ca.

Since this life changing tour, Summer has continued to study jazz and pop music. Branching into new and blended genres she and her talented fellow musicians are hard at work composing songs for her debut album. Summer Brooke’s lyrical integrity, musicianship and love for art will all be exposed through this project.
