The Centennials are a group of four teenagers each aged 16 playing acoustic/indie music. Sam Merritt (Vocalist and guitarist) and Parker Woods (Vocals, Lead Guitar, Keys) started the band and have been playing music for the past 2 years together. They brought in Taylor Reynolds (Vocals, Harmonica and, Bass) into the group in late 2009. Graeme Carswell (Percussion) joined in early 2010 after a sound check the day before a large Motor Bike Festival in Tilbury. The band went to the soundcheck thinking of playing acoustic/folk music and after seeing the heavy duty bikers setting the festival up they quickly realized they would not be playing folk tomorrow. That night they invited Graeme to come down and play some drums and convert their songs into a more rock style and after eight hours of hard work and a five hour sleep The Centennials played their first gig as a four piece band. Graeme fit perfectly and they've been playing plenty of shows since including a private show for Cirque Du Soleil, The Vancouver City Finals Battle of The Bands at The Rio Theatre, one and a half Haiti Benefit Concerts, a Rooftop show in Tsawwassen, and many more. They have been experimenting in sounds for a while but now have found a sticking genre - Indie Rock.
