AVERYSDESCENT'S BIOGRAPHY
Avery's Descent began in January 2005 with a mix of fours guys, Andrew Stevens, Phil Giannoudis, Keegan Link and Matt Hynes who knew each other from college and hometown friendships just getting together with no intension to do anymore than just play some cover songs and stay as a "basement band." Everyone started to feel that maybe it could be brought to the next level and so they started to write their own material in hopes to eventually perform in a live setting. Back then the band called themselves Asphixia which you may still be able to find on MySpace, but there are no recordings to listen to and then changed the name to Peace Beyond Control and finally settled on Avery's Descent. Things started to get a bit rocky in September 2005 and then again in November 2005 where Avery's Descent began to lose hope to ever getting out into the public, so in December 2005 Avery's Descent had to say farewell to Matt Hynes, their bassist of 11 months due to reasons of personal interest. However that band did not stay long without a bassist, within a week "Bear" joined the remaining three and two weeks after they added Peter to the mix to take the reins as the bands first frontman. The band began to work really hard since they were forced to almost start from scratch, Peter faced his first mogul where only one song had complete lyrics, Bear needed to shave down his learning curve, and Keegan, Phil and Drew were to become the teachers. In February 2006, the band pulled together in time to be featured in the March issue of KYTV's (Kahnawake Youth Television) local band profile of the month. During the filming process, Brady Cross was the camera-man and director of the video shoot. At the end of the filming, he asked if the band wouldn't mind if he just tried Drew's drumkit, not thinking anything of it, the band allowed Brady to play but this would be a turning point for Avery's Descent's original line-up. In March 2006, Brady was announced as Avery's Descent's new drummer, Drew would be heading to guitar and unfortunately the band would have to say goodbye to one of their original four, Phil. The band meshed together well and began getting their name known playing a fair number of shows, but there was something still missing in the formula. The band and Pete decided to mutually part ways to discover a new side of potential. Drew would volunteer to take responsibilities as frontman and Avery's Descent would find themselves the newest member, Kevin, on guitar. Kevin introduces a new blend of metal to a currently working mix to make music that much more intense and complete.

The band is forever evolving, adding in new melody and sub-genre under-tones while sticking to the metal and alternative roots. Avery's Descent is a band that features innovative drumming that blasts through with authority, riveting low-tones, crunching and punching guitar riffs, winding chest-pushing solos, and vocals that drive inspiration through hardship, betrayal, beliefs and society.
