Our Battle of the Bands® shows feature artists, from a variety of genres, competing for fame, glory and awesome prizes. Get up on stage and show us your inner rockstar. Supernova is your opportunity to meet new bands, build your fan base, and play to an all-ages crowd. Whether you’re a stage virgin or you’ve got a few gigs under your belt, we give you the experience needed to break into the music industry.

HISTORY

Supernova began back in 1992, with two brothers trying to help a friend’s high school band play an all-ages gig. As word spread about Supernova, more bands emerged from their parents’ basements wanting the opportunity to play live. Soon Supernova was running Battle of the Bands® every weekend across Southern Ontario, eventually extending across Canada and into the US. Thousands of bands have since competed in Supernova’s Battle of the Bands®. International stars like Billy Talent, Sum 41, and Three Days Grace all rocked a Supernova stage before hitting the world stage.

SUPERNOVA SUCCESS STORIES

Sum 41 opened for Treble Charger and were signed and developed by lead singer, Greg Nori (1996)

Toybox was selected to headline the third stage at Edgefest in Toronto (2002)

The Molson Canadian House Party brought Shaker and Sam Roberts together in Windsor and Faithdown and Sum 41 together in Ottawa at Linxx Stadium (2003)

Shaker rocked out with Bon Jovi, Inveighsion moshed with The Sex Pistols, and Betrayer shredded with Iron Maiden for several sold-out summer shows at the Molson Amplitheatre (cap. 16,000) (2003)

Flipswitch signed to Chad Kroeger’s label 604 Records (2003)

R-O-A opened for Panic! at the Disco and played a four show tour with Cancer Bats, The End, Johnny Truant and The Gorgeous (2006-07)

Makeshift Alibi, Lazy Susan’s, Satori, and Methodical Breed played at The Bluffs in Kelowna, BC, with Lynyrd Skynyrd (2006)

One Second 2 Late were signed to Sony BMG (2006)

Supernova wants to give you the tools to help you further your band’s career. In any given Battle of the Bands ® event, you can expect prizes in the form of recording time at local studios, photo shoots, merch packages, and headlining opportunities for your band and more! You might even get the chance to play with well known headliners such as Silverstein, Cancer Bats, illScarlett, The Saint Alvia Cartel, Johnny Truant, Panic at the Disco!, Social Code, among many others!
