Q: So I signed up online, am I in the show?
A: Not yet. We’ll call you and confirm. But signing up lets us know you’re interested. > back to top
Q: What are the prizes?
A: Prizes differ in every city. For more information, contact your local booker. > back to top
Q: What’s the deal with Wildcard Voting?
A: Up to 7 days after a show, fans can vote online for the 3rd place winner. To vote, go to the band’s profile page or search for the show and click on Wildcard Voting. > back to top
Q: Sell tickets. Do I have to?
A: No. But you should. All the shows are self promoted by the bands. It’s one of the things that keeps them free for the bands. If all the bands at a show bring out a strong crowd, you get tons of exposure. Also, the set time slots are based on tickets sales: the best time slot goes to the band with the most fans. > back to top
Q: Does it cost to play?
A: Absolutely not. It is 100% free for bands to play. We’ll even provide you flyers and tickets to promote your show for free. > back to top
Q: Do we get paid to play.
A: Not at a Battle of the Bands® show, although we will be offering paid opportunities for legal-aged bands with a strong following. Wondering where the money from the ticket sales goes? See the next question. > back to top
Q: Ticket sales. What happens to that money?
A: It goes back into the show. There’s lots of stuff we have to pay for, like venues (especially at all ages events), gear, prizes, headliners, promotional materials, staff at the events, plus the staff and administrators that book the shows, create new business relationships, and keep the website running. > back to top
Q: Why are punk, metal and rock bands in the same show?
A: Because some punk fans like a little metal. And some rock fans get into a bit of punk. It’s a way of sharing fans and getting you exposed to fans who might not usually hear your music. > back to top
Q: Can we sell our merch?
A: For sure! Bringing merch to sell is a good idea, since you could be playing in front of 250-1000 fans who wouldn’t ordinarily get a chance to buy your stuff. Oh, and you get to keep 100% of the sales. But check with the Supernova staff at each show, because some venues have their own rules about merch. > back to top
Q: What is the backline provided?
A: 4-piece drum kit (1 Floor Tom, 1 Bass Drum, 2 Mounted Toms), 1 Bass Amp, 1 Guitar Amp and all microphones. This backline is standard in most cities we operate in. Please check with Supernova before the show to confirm. > back to top
Q: What equipment should our band bring?
