CHRIS RITCHIE is a Singer-Songwriter and Independent Producer from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, CANADA. He currently lives in Toronto. A songwriter since the age of 11 and a performer since the age of 16, he has spent years honing his musical skills and perfecting his unique live performances. Chris Ritchie sings with real emotion and has an original sounding voice that is easily recognized. Heavily influenced by early Rhythm & Blues and by bands like The Beatles and Nirvana, Ritchie writes catchy, grungy alt rock tunes and soft rock ballads that continue to impress and entertain audiences around Toronto. In 2007 He was featured on the compilation "Rock 4 Life" (Quickstar Productions) which features Artists from all over Canada, U.S. and Great Britain and was a Benefit CD Release to help find a cure for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a chronic liver disease. The Compilation was released both in CD form and Digitally, through online retailers such as iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon. All Proceeds from sales went to help the fight against PSC. Ritchie continues to perform on a regular basis, holding a weekly residency in the Martini Lounge of the Pantages Hotel, in Downtown Toronto. Called, the "Pop Rock Piano Show", it features a well-dressed Chris Ritchie playing Grand Piano and singing a mix of classic and obscure songs by known artists and originals written by Ritchie himself. If you are used to seeing him play 12 string guitar and sing, you're in for a whole new experience with these shows. The style is different but the dynamic voice is the same. Chris Ritchie also works in the Music Industry as a Freelance Lighting Technician and Stage Hand. He often jokes around that one day he'd like to stop building stages and start playing on them.
