Melding progressive hard rock with an epic tale to create a concept album armed to the teeth with metallic riffs, haunting acoustic passages and memorable hooks.
Taking from previous modern concept themed albums Coheed and Cambria (The Amory Wars), Protest the Hero (Kezia) and classic survival horror films (Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later) "DEAD EYES OPEN" boldly ties the gap between movie and music. Written, produced and recorded by the band, David Fraelic (Vocals), Matt Gladman (Guitar and Vocals), John Phan (Guitar), Matt Harder (Bass and Vocals) and Chris Anderson (Drums and Vocals) they bring together "THE DOOMSDAY CHRONICLES", Dead Eyes Open's 2011 debut EP. A post-apocalyptic view of New York city decimated by a viral outbreak causing it's victims to rise from the dead and feed off the living. "The Doomsday Chronicles" unveils the epic beginnings of a cryptic new world seen through the smoke and ashes of one legendary couple. When the surviving duo awake to find themselves deserted in the aftermath of a violent, nightmarish pandemic they must travel across the devastated and desolate landscape on their pursuit for survival after everything is lost.
Having already played with some of Canada's top acts such as Protest the Hero, Marianas Trench, Daniel Wesley, The Armchair Cynics and two Western Canadian tours completed, Dead Eyes Open are ready to take the world by storm in 2011. Recently Dead Eyes Open reached the top 20 position in the 99.3 Vancouver Seeds competition while planning their fifth western Canada tour for 2012 to support their EP album throughout the new year, it's clear... there is no stopping DEO.
