30th 07 Where? El Mocambo. Where were you? Well, for myself, I was there. I was there for a night of hip-hop and soul, and a time was had, I…I missed you. And you missed out. So, to avoid missing out on a good time with some supernova folk, drop by and say hello because of the likes such as… Royce Birth-- The guy started off the night right. A fiery strong lyric accompanied by thunders gut vibrating bass, was on his main course dish, and along with pleads of peace in the city streets. Royce was pleasantly accompanied by a dynamic duo that ended a spicy edge to the set that finished off quite nicely with the effort. Also, the cool thing about hip-hop and DJ sets are, the set changes are as easy as changing a cd (MP3?). Of course this only works if everyone is there on time. DRE whom was Feta Cheese (Feta/Cheese?) offered up the audience a break from high-octane performances that were sure to follow. Such as the duo’s Jshiltz/Aspect followed by T.M.E. Clique/Nadim. Both of these sets were empowered and powerful in there message and rhyme. Mad Ill the Pill grouped together to supply an explosive set that got the crowed in the mood, only to up the ante with every track by tack by taking you places that you did not expect to be in. Soul Plane, ended the evening with their smooth vibes and stellar leading female vocals, and to bring in a live band was a very cool way to end the evening. So, see you next time kids! dsm Posted at: 12/3/2007 9:46:28 PM |
