For the second year in a row, Supernova and Power 97, Winnipeg’s best rock station, have collaborated to launch a massive search for bands to join the River City Rocks Class of 2011. Powered by the Supernova platform, the River City Rocks website features an interactive community for fans and bands, and a great prize package geared to help bands promote their music.


Manitoba bands and fans can sign up easily at power97.supernova.com right now, where bands can use social media to promote their music. Starting May 1st, 2011, fans can vote up to once per day, every day for the entire month, to help Power 97 determine the Top 20 bands in the River City Rocks 2011 talent search.

From these Top 20, a Power 97 judging panel will select
the best four bands to win it ALL:

* Membership to Manitoba Music

* A gift certificate to Quest Musique

* A promotional package including an upcoming Power 97 concert appearance

* AND radio airplay on Power 97 ALL summer long! Supernova’s power97.supernova.com community will also live on after River City Rocks 2011, creating a year round community for Manitoba’s independent music scene.

Powered by Supernova, the River City Rocks local talent search is open to any Manitoba bands who have never been signed to a major label; bands involved in previous Power 97 contests are welcome.
