10th Annual Spring Music Festival: More Headliners, More Clubs and More Opportunities

The 10th Annual Spring Music Festival is now accepting applications!

The Spring Music Festival is a celebration of new music, showcasing up to 100 of the hottest up-and-coming ‘buzz bands’ from across Canada and the USA, at the best pubs and clubs in the Hamilton & Burlington area. As is the case each year, a large contingency of industry is always in attendance at the festival, coming to check out the hottest bands around! 2012 brings us to our 10th anniversary as the longest running club-based festival in the Hamilton area, where you can expect more headliners, more clubs and more opportunities for bands. Check out the video below from 2010!

Each year the festival brings with it exciting new sponsors who help promote the shows, and in the past the festival has produced stages on behalf of Rogers, Y108 FM, Steamwhistle Pilsner, Long & McQuade, Athens Printing, Metalworks, Sonicbids, Labatt’s and even a televised broadcast that reached more than 165,000 households as part of our Singer/Songwriter showcase.

Past performers have included: Three Days Grace, Sweet Thing, Ron Sexsmith, Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies), Danko Jones, The Trews, The Tea Party, illScarlett, Neverending White Lights, SNOW, Tomi Swick, STEMM, Jack DeKeyser, Bleeker Ridge, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Jonas & The Massive Attraction, The Marble Index, Junkhouse, Candian Idol winner Ryan Malcolm, Gordie Johnson and Grady, Social Code, Protest the Hero and many more.

Here's what some previous performers have said:

"Spring Music Festival is a well run event that showcases a wide range of talent across many genres. We manage Dean Lickyer, who were voted 'Best in Fest' at the 2008 Festival. The prize package the band won has helped them immensely and the studio time at Mastermind Studios was used to record the cd the band is touring behind right now. All in all, it has been a fantastic experience."
-- Chris Case, RCD Music. Manager, Dean Lickyer

"The Rogers Spring Music Festival is one of the most valuable networking channels for both established, and up-and-coming artists. As performers in the 2007 SMF, littleSUNDAY was exposed to a variety of useful industry contacts including, radio and media, as well as being exposed to new opportunities, fans and much more.. We highly endorse the festival, and look forward to the many more years to come!"
-- Rick Farrell, littleSUNDAY

"Our performance at SMF 2007 helped us gain a serious amount of exposure during our trip to Canada, which culminated in us getting our album into the Top 5 on Hamilton's C101.5FM Mohawk College Radio chart. We can't recommend this festival enough!"
-- Rod Smith, Vesta Varro
