How did you get your stage name?
Overdriven is an old school rock band made up
of four 16 and 17 year olds. We have been friends with each other
for a while and all have interests in music.
We thought the name Overdriven sounded Old School so we kept the name.
How long have you been playing together with the current lineup?
We have been playing with the current lineup for about
seven months now.
If I was to put you on the spot and ask you to define your genre, what would you call it?
In our eyes, we have our own genre of music called ‘Big Rock’ or ‘New Classis Rock’ because we bring power and energy in all of our performances!!!
Do you have any major artistic influences?
Our major artistic influences are Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses and most recently Monster Truck.
What is the most rewarding thing about being in a band?
Being in a band is very rewarding but the most rewarding thing ever is that we get to hang out with our friends and make the kind of music we all really enjoy.
It’s so amazing when we perform seeing
everyone in the crowd getting into our music and rocking out. It’s
an awesome feeling!!!

What is the hardest part about being in a band?
The hardest part
about being in a group is having everyone agree on things as a
group. Everyone has their own musical opinions and ideas.
How did you come across Supernova.com and what would you tell other artists about Supernova?
We are glad we found Supernova
because they are awesome. We signed up for Supernova after we
heard about them through family and friends.
We would tell other
bands to definitely give Supernova a shot if they want to play sick
gigs and get recognized.
Do you have a motto or tradition for putting on a good show?
Yes, we usually get together the day of a
show and practice. Our motto is to have fun. We just want to play
and have a great time on stage.
What is your most memorable moment thus far as a band?
The
most memorable moment as a band is performing at El Mocambo
in The Road to Canada’s Wonderland 2012 and winning 1st prize!!!
The band performed at Canada’s Wonderland on August 21st.
What is the funniest story/strangest experience that you have had as a band?
At one of our performances at El Mocambo, we had a
substitute guitarist. On our last song, he was about to do a solo and
suddenly his guitar amp died. We continued to play the song
anyway and ended up winning the gig!
If you had your way, where would you be in 2 years?
If
we had our way, ideally we would want a recording contract. We
would like to tour all of Canada, Europe and the USA as well as
England and Australia. Slash and Monster Truck would be
opening the show for us
In closing, is there anything else that makes your band unique that new listeners should know?
We write our own unique songs. We have
written five original songs and have recorded two at Epik
Productions called ‘On the Run’ and ‘Crazy’. We are currently
working on recording another original called ‘Midway Way’. We
love creating new music as a band and incorporating everyone’s
ideas..
