Adulteration is a distinctive metal band
composed of three musicians, Buk, L-Man, and Chop from Pennsylvania,
United States. Their advanced style is extremely different than many
metal bands featured on Supernova. I enjoyed the contrast of
blending both fast and slow sections in each track, which appeared to
have some thought and theory behind it. Along with their more unique,
low vocals, Adulteration has also demonstrated a lot of technical
ability in the playing of their instruments. “The Final
Solution,” features frequent use of the harmonic minor scale,
adding an almost foreign aspect to parts of the song; however, they
seemed to carry the same tone throughout the entire song. I would
recommend perhaps adding a wider range of vocals transitioning from low
to high.
Presently, there are five
groundbreaking songs available on their profile. Opposed to generic
bands that play the same repetitive riffs, each track displays an
entirely different theme, and sound. Adulteration touches on a variety of mature
and controversial issues in their lyrics from a totalitarianism form of
government, extermination of races, historical events including the
holocaust, to the everyday struggles faced in life.
Adulteration has proven to be a very unique
band, by deciding on an unusual band name, creative song titles, and
flowing lyrics. They chose to explain their selection of name by
clarifying what they believe to be their individual denotation of the
word. On the other hand, I think they could have promoted themselves,
and their music better. There was a single photo displaying the logo of
Adulteration; although, I was hoping to see
several pictures of the band members to get a better interpretation of
their personalities. I would advise them to include some pictures of
themselves, write a brief history of the progression of Adulteration, and their interests. Maybe
they would even want to post a few more logos, or merchandise designs
if they’re looking ahead to the future. Keep it metal.
Top Music Week December 31st:
Theme
For Murder

Total: 14/15
Theme
for Murder is an aspiring five piece band originating from
Washington, United States. Their two tracks Destroying Something
Beautiful, and Betrayal are combinations of genres including metal,
indie, and alternative music. Gordon skillfully modifies his voice in
order to deliver both clear vocals, and deep growls, whereas Brandon
keeps really good time, and plays moderately difficult riffs on his
lead guitar. Destroying Something Beautiful incorporates thought
provoking lyrics about not turning away from something you fear, even
if you’re fearful.
I received a very
honest, down to earth impression from Theme
For Murder. They appear to be a relatively fan oriented band
by expressing inspirational advice to fans that they can achieve
anything if they work hard enough for it. An invitation is also always
open for anyone who shares the same love for music, as they encourage
fans to attend their performances. They continued to portray a positive
impact by displaying creative artwork. The amount of time put into
Theme For Murder’s design is
extremely evident. I would only suggest for them to simply add more
pictures, and keep producing more tracks.
