Top Music Week January 21st: Against Grey

Against Grey is a distinctive scremo band formulated from beautiful Langley, British Columbia. Their collective passion for music was noted as being responsible for their band forming together. In the meantime, they have produced several tracks including On a Fence, and You’ll Never Be Forgotten, which seem to have attracted a lot of attention. I found both tracks to be extremely impressive; although, some of their characteristics follow the typical format that many bands in this genre follow.
Stewart of Against Grey effortlessly demonstrates tremendous vocals altering from soft smooth harmonies fading into Luke’s insane screaming. The vocals are well harmonized and provide a wide range in pitch. Similar to the vocals, both guitars demonstrated a relatively high degree of variety. Blending the distorted guitar in with clean riffs added an unique quality to the piece. The recordings positioned on their page were exceptionally clear, and had a professional appeal.
The enormous collection of pictures of the band members, and previous performances, projected a sneak peak into their personalities and energetic stage presence. Currently, they are concentrating on participating in more performances to collect a larger fan base. I’m certain if they continue to produce work at this degree of quality, they will become more successful in no time.

Rising from the countless talent of British Columbia, Isle is a significantly advanced metal band that is expected to top the charts. They bring new techniques combined with the classical fundamentals perfected over the ages of metal. Each member contributes a different factor to the band in order to create such unique tracks.
Not only has Chris demonstrated control over his powerful vocals, and rhythm guitar, but he has also proven to be versatile by adapting to various styles. At merely the age of fifteen, Keston is the indescribable lead guitarist of Isle, whose skill can’t be imagined without a personal observation. Keith’s love for the bass guitar, and talent on the piano allows him to apply his knowledge of both instruments to Isle’s sound. Lastly, the oldest member, Paul enjoys many aspects of music, whether it is playing in metal, funk or jazz that allowed him to gain a sense of groove to each genre.
With amazing influences such as Dimebag Darrell and Zakk Wylde, it’s quite obvious that jaw-dropping melodic riffs, and legendary solos would be utilized in their own work. Their band logo was relatively simplistic, yet impacting in the same respect because it left more room for the viewer’s interpretation. I would only recommend Isle to include some photographs of the band members to feel connected on a more personal level. Isle’s well-written band biography incorporated a portion introducing each member, which helped project a positive impact.
Despite that fact that Isle has only performed one live show, it seems that there will be many of lineups from them in the near future.
