Kooznetz is a four piece heavy metal band reigning from Burnbay, British Columbia. Already between the mere ages of fifteen to seventeen, their tracks Insurgent Mass, and Stalingrad demonstrate the fundamentals of old school metal. It’s no wonder with their first song ever learned, Seek and Destroy, would Metallica have a musical influence on their sound.
I found the instrumentals to be appealing; however, somewhat simplistic in sections. The vocals were unique; although there could have been a little wider range. Kooznetz has done a fairly good job at displaying a positive image of themselves to the public. They’ve traced quite a large fan base in their time as a band. In order to draw in more fans, I would suggest incorporating pictures of the band members, their names and instrument of choice, and a brief explanation of how they were formed. Listeners may experience a closer connection from knowing more about them, and maybe find things they have in common. I also found their main picture to be particularly creative, but they may want to also explain their band name, and reason for selecting it.
With only five performances under their belt, they have already taken first place at Hard Harvest 2007 with Threat Signal. Kooznetz takes pride in their shows, and have a serious attitude towards putting on a good show by continuously practicing beforehand. We can expect great things from them in the future.
