Theory Astray is an experienced alternative metal band from Innisfil, Ontario. During the winter of 2000, Dan (vocals), Ted (bass), Jamie (guitar), and Alex (drums) came together with similar music interests to produce memorable music and change the face of Alternative-Metal with their individual sound. Their tracks are derived from their influences in everyday life, including controversial topics like corruptions, government and the media. With a broad spectrum of musical influences from Pantera, and Lamb of God, to Rage Against the Machine, it is no wonder they have such a unique sound.
Theory Astray has a good reputation which in turn has attracted a very large fan base. They have done an exceedingly good job advertising themselves with their posters, band logo, and various photo shoots. To top off their publicity, they even have a video interview featured on their webpage. In addition, they also displayed a thorough band biography outlining how they got started and the origin of their name to provide the viewers with a better understanding of their background. They have been granted with countless awards over their eight years as a band, including first prize Battle of the Bands, Redpipe.ca Summer Warfare, Band on the Run 2007 Ontario Finals, Redpipe.ca Out of the Garage Serious Finals, second prize Battle of the bands, Playmusic Festival, and the wildcard winner of Hard Harvest 2007.
Presently Theory Astray is producing a band new EP, and is looking to expand their already established fan base. If you’re in the area, I would highly recommend attending one of their performances.
