Gina Lily’s humble beginnings on Saltspring Island planted a passion for music very early on. In choirs and the occasional musical theatre production, Gina Lily passively scratched the musical itch.
But, sometimes fate steps in to moves things along a little more quickly, and when a 4 year relationship ended it was time to paint lavishly on the new blank canvas of her life with only the brightest, most beautifully inspiring colours.
“It felt like a luxury to have a chance to create my life this way. I learned and discovered a lot about myself in that process. What became very clear? Anything is possible. My life could be anything I wanted it to be.”
Reminiscent of Sia, Jem, Feist and The Cranberries, there is a naturally evocative, reflective nostalgia to Gina Lily's voice... and she isn’t afraid to power up the energy and fill the room! Her ever evolving songwriting is layered with metaphor and wrapped in memorable melodies. Her songsmithing, together with her spirit and her palpable, tender ecstasy for music, holds audiences sweetly enraptured.
She is currently at work on her first full length album, due to be released in Summer 2009.
