Casual but frequent jam sessions in 2008 inspired bass player Matthew MacMartin and guitarists/vocalists Curtis Wilson & Dayna Van Buskirk to form a band and write original songs. With the addition of drummer Sam Gent in early 2009, the band was complete. They spent much of that spring on a farm outside Vancouver learning to play and create music together. It was clear they had achieved rock when they were kicked off the farm.
With three original, self-produced songs now recorded, Kicked Off the Farm is currently rehearsing and performing locally, and continue to write and record independently. They offer up a sound heavily influenced by the alternative rock, post-grunge scene, with a diverse selection of songs that explore the full spectrum of the genre. Expect strong lyrics, loud instruments and sincere intensity.
Not to mention the best fans and friends in the world.
