New Design was formed in 2008, in Brampton, Ontario. After being involved with various bands in the local music scene, Jeff, Joe, Zack and Melissa wanted to form a band that would emphasize originality and musicianship, and then to deliver that vision to their audiences with enthusiasm, and, most importantly, have a lot of fun in the process.
Drawing on influences as diverse as the avant garde rock of The Smashing Pumpkins and Rush, to contemporary pop, they create a modern sound that is both original, and accessible.
New Design performs steadily around the GTA to a growing fan base. Past shows have included appearances at The Sound Academy, The Reverb, The Mod Club and The Opera House.
New Design is currently recording their first CD, for Summer 2011 release, and will promote it with an extensive performance schedule
