Garage rock staple Ty Segall has decided to get all prolific on us this year by releasing a staggering three albums in the next six months, two under his own name, plus a collaboration with fellow garage rockers White Fence.
In an interview with Dartmouth College blog Dartbeat (home of the Dartmoose), Segall discussed the various projects in a local garage, the first of which is a ‘mini LP’ for label In the Red, promises to be “a lot harder and louder” thanks to the inclusion of a full band. His second will be released via Drag City and will find him alone in his garage, as per usual.
His collaboration with White Fence, entitled Hair apparently isn’t garage rock at all and is apparently psychedelic, improvisational and just plain “weird.”
Everyone with a “cool dad” should check their garage in the next few months for stowed away Ty Segall albums. Below, listen to last year’s garage hit “Goodbye Bread.”
