Biography

NORMANN Anticipation. Exhilaration. Bliss. These aren't just words to the members of NORMANN. These are goals. These are a few of the many emotions that will come to mind when you become a friend and a fan of the fun loving ball of electricity that is NORMANN. This talented and ambitious group of five musicians have been honing their craft in and around the Ottawa area for several years and they've been turning a whole lot of heads lately. They have an ear catching, soul touching sound that fits the intimacy of the coolest downtown club, or the majesty of the greatest outdoor festivals, and everything in between. NORMANN has a knack for creating boundless and significant rock music that makes people need to move. With brilliant tracks like 'Life in Love' 'Lies and Cocaine' and 'Stay' getting airplay on several radio stations, NORMANN is an essential addition to any music lover's collection. DRUMS Rob Kitchen - "Kitch" has been given the gift of rhythm and he uses that gift to make things move. Legend has it that he once parted Lake Ontario using only the steady beat of his bass drum. One look at his face while he's playing and you just know he is feeling the groove like very few can. When you find yourself craving the "Kitchen Swing", you can thank Rob Kitchen. GUITAR AND VOCALS Dan Gignac - "Giggy" has an outstanding ear for melody and his infectious enthusiasm has people cheering him on just by looking at him. Then, when he starts sing and play his guitar and belt out his catchy melodies, little cartoon bubbles of happy appear over the heads of those lucky enough to hear his magic. GUITAR Wayne Hancock - "Wayner" likes to use his guitar to alter the human form. Various methods include bruising by uncontrollable movement, making people slightly larger through the use of standing neck hairs and of course...face melting. BASS Eric Jacklin - "Stampy" was once overheard comparing the bass to a Mac Truck. And when he wields his four string weapon, you will pull over to let that truck pass, or you'll likely be crushed by the relentless groove.
