Street Light Magic

So as far as I'm concerned, the band was formed back in 2009 with original members James Stephens(Playing Lead Guitar), Branden Gibson(Playing Drums), and Darren Laberge(Rythm Guitar). Born in Gibson's basement in Mid-October, the group practiced, and practiced, and practiced, and guess what? THEY PRACTCED! But as Streetlight's first live show was approaching (End of school year for '09) the members decided to add a fourth member for bass. This member turned out to be the young and talented guitarist Jason Stewart. Stewart agreed to play Jean Vanier's Battle Of The Bands for them. In a last minute decision- Laberge was selected to sing the band's only song that involved lyrics. The-Drop-D-Song. Being the only band that was of the ninth grade, Streetlight placed 4th with an honorable mention from Local band The Midway State who judged the competition. As summer arrived the band took a break as everyone was either working, or getting mildly stoned....*cough* *cough*. As the new school year arrived the band decided to let Stewart go as the members could not get along and time was standing still! As the year progressed the band remained in tact, new members auditioned and were quickly told to fuck off. Potential bassist Zach DeNobraga was introduced to Gibson by Laberge. Jam sessions followed and just as the band was reaching a new level of epicness; singer/guitarist Laberge was involved in a collision involving a 1990's Chrysler Newyorker (google this bitch and tell me you didn't shit your pants at how big it is). The band was put on hold, Darren was in Toronto Hospital for Sick Children for one month after fracturing his right Tibula-Fibula, and left Femur. After his discharge from SickKids, Laberge was enrolled in a rehab course at Bloorview Childrens Rehabilitation Centre. After discharge, Laberge returned to Streetlight and then they broke up... On going problems with Drummer Branden and Lead Guitarist James lead to having everybody kicked out of the drummers house. That was the end of the band for almost a year. Now it's 2010, and the Lead guitarist has improved dramatically, the drummer has improved dramatically, and what has the singer and rhythm guitarist done? Bought an acoustic and a bass! Jam sessions followed and in the first two weeks the band had 4 solid songs put together! All included lyrics and good structure. It is now 2011, a new year, a new beginning.
