The Mission District was formed during the Summer of 2004 by David Rancourt (vocals), Travis Barfoot (guitar) and Rob Rousseau (guitar). After a few line-up changes, The Mission District started spreading their dream pop to the masses.
The band has played several notable shows throughout central and eastern Canada, performing with such acts as: Elbow, Islands, The Duke Spirit and the Meligrove Band. In February of this year the group opened for Universal Music recording artist 'Mobile' during a sold out performance at The Spectrum in Montreal. The concert was highlighted by an impromptu collaboration between Mobile and the band of David Bowie’s ‘Suffragette City’ during Mobile’s encore.
The band is currently recording its second record with producer Matt DeMatteo (Hawksley Workman, Big Wreck, Ashley MacIsaac).
