About The Whole Damn Day
The Whole Damn Day have been together for nearly three years
Through many difficult times, and many great ones, they have continued to stand true to their art and to themselves
They play original rock music with a lot of integrated guitar music and instrumental songs
They have a full night worth of original music and some properly placed covers to get the vibe going
~~~~~~~~~~
The current group consists of Jesse Hertel, Josh Morris, Matt Simington, and Bill Clause
(Past members included: Mike Mitchell, and Brad Marshall)
~~~~~~~~~~
The Whole Damn Day have recorded three separate demos
The original demo was the first recording by the band. It contained songs like:
I can hear what you're thinking (Marshall), Walk Away (Mitchell), Toxic Wasteland (Marshall), Yeah Yeah Yeah (Hertel & Mitchell), Etc. Etc.
~~~~~~~~~~
The Second Demo was the first to feature a song with Jesse on Guitar and Vocals (In Tongue).
It held songs like: In Tongue (Hertel), Toxic Wasteland (revised) (Hertel & Marshall), Little Lies (Hertel & Marshall), and Just Talkin' (Hertel & Marshall)
~~~~~~~~~~
Finally, The Third demo was a three song CD put together for handing out at shows. It held the first recordings of the three songs:
So Long, Come Off, Stick To
Different versions of all three ended up on their self-titled debut
~~~~~~~~~~
Next came the recording of their full length album. Simply titled THE WHOLE DAMN DAY, it is a work of art.
It was recorded at Machine Head Studio in Toronto, Ontario over the course of many night shifts.
The entire album was recorded between the hours of 9pm and 5am throughout the month of March 2007.
Containing many of the bands more popular songs played to perfection. The song Once Again is actually recorded live of the floor....vocals and all.
The Track List is as follows:
~~~~~~~~~~
1. Breathe 2. Come Off 3. Sounds for a beautiful day 4. It'll Be Alright 5. Once Again
6. Nostalgia 7. So Long 8. Jam 9. Stick To 10. The Haunted Melody
~~~~~~~~~~
The mixing was done after by Matt and Jesse to ensure that the band got what they were looking for out of the album
After nearly three months of mixing, the album was finally released on June 8, 2007 (Jesse's son's birthday)
~~~~~~~~~~
Now with a recording studio of their own, and a bit more time for writing, The Whole Damn Day will be bringing new music out frequently.
